Where will my private English Test Preparation Course take place? Can I also take the course online?

Yes, you can take this Test Preparation Course online.

In-person training in Amsterdam takes place in the beautiful, artistic Museum Quarter close to the Vondelpark and Van Gogh Museum, and at 2 historic canal houses, just minutes from Amsterdam Centraal Station, plus at the Ijsbaanpad (close to the A10 and Amstelveenseweg) and Nieuwe Herengracht locations.

We also see clients in Amstelveen and Den Haag.

Will I use a book?

Most clients use a test preparation book. Some clients have already chosen a test prep book, but if you have not, we can advise you. There are also lots of good digital resources available. The price of the book is not included in the course.

How many hours training will I need?

Some people need just a few hours for test preparation, other will need about 20 hours. It depends on your English level, your test-taking skills and the score you need. Everyone if different. Many clients start with a small package of hours and renew if they need more.

When can I start?

We can generally start a course quickly, within 7 to 10 days. Private courses are offered year round.

Will I have just one trainer? Will they be a native speaker?

We will match you with a native-speaker trainer from our Amsterdam-based team. All our trainers are university-educated, native-speaker professionals who know how to bring the language to life. With friendly support and clear guidance, your trainer will help you pass your English test.

We offer morning through evening hours, Central European Time (CET), and we are happy to adjust to our clients’ schedules. Saturday’s by agreement only.

Do you need to pass the IELTS?

When you have picked a test date (or a tentative test date), we can proceed with course planning. Or you can start working with us and pick the date when you feel ready.

Do you want to start with an Oxford test online?

The Oxford Test is an inexpensive, quick and easy test to schedule and take. It will give you a good idea where you are right now in terms of English reading, listening, and grammar (writing and speaking are not included). A few schools may accept an Oxford Test for your entrance requirement. Check your school entrance office to be sure.
