In this dynamic English speaking course, you will practise English that you can use immediately, at home, during travel, or on the job. Expect practical exercises and personal attention from your native-speaker trainer who will take your pronunciation and speaking skills to the next level. And because our courses are always taught one-to-one, you will get instant corrections to shape your English sound, correct sentence structure problems and express meaning with correct intonation. (This last skill is super importnat!)
As you know, American English (AE) and British English (BE) have a lot in common, but they certainly have some differences – in accent, idiom and names of certain items. For example, a “drugstore” in American English is called a “chemist” in British English. You can choose AE or BE depending on the people you speak with the most, or just strive for solid international English fluency without too much worry re: a specific accent or set of idioms.
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to improve their spoken English.
For most learners, this course will include vocabulary for fluency and accent reduction for clarity. Other needed skills can vary widely, depending on the learner, and include word and sentence stress (intonation), pace, volume, voice placement, cultural appropriateness and body language.
The course will be tailor-made for you, so we will focus on the spoken English that you need the most. Depending on your level, goals and career, that could be anything from preparing basic small talk to giving your first Ted Talk!
