Our English Writing skills course is designed to teach both academics, school students and professionals the tricks of writing in English. Whether you are struggling with essays, dissertations, or just want to refine your writing style for (professional) articles, this course is the key to success. With personal attention from a native speaker, you will not only learn the right structure and style, but also how to find and use your own unique voice in English.
As you know, American English (AE) and British English (BE) have a lot in common, but they certainly have some differences – in spelling, punctuation, capitalization and idiom. We will ask you to choose AE or BE so that your writing is internally consistent.
This course is suitable for those who have already mastered a fair level of English writing and are studying or working in a field where academic writing is important, such as science or medicine. The course is also suitable if you are studying English at high school and need to improve your writing. We will work on sentence structure, correct connecting words, formatting, vocabulary and punctuation.
You can take our course both online via Zoom and onsite at one of our convenient locations in Amsterdam, The Hague, and Amstelveen. The course lasts between 12 and 20 hours and is usually spread over about two months, depending on your learning goals and availability. Many participants decide to extend their course afterwards, so that they can work on their English writing skills on an ongoing basis. This flexible time frame allows you to learn at your own pace.
